Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Digital Pedagogy Assistant to join the School of Government on a 3-month fixed term contract: 1 November 2021 – 28 February 2022.

Key responsibilities:

The role will be responsible for:

  • maintaining relationships with students in a specified course via Blackboard and/or email communication and/or face-to-face communication
  • providing the Course Coordinator and Lecturers with assistance in course delivery

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated, student-focused individual, with excellent communication skills, who can take the initiative and provide excellent support to our students and to the Course Coordinator and Lecturers.

You will have great skills in working with Zoom (organizing and managing webinars) and Blackboard for online and hybrid course delivery.

You will thrive in this role in an excellent manner with people, have an ability to provide clear and timely guidance to students, manage situations when students are under stress and apply your self-management skills.

Key Requirements:

You will hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that would include courses in environmental policy, sustainability-related studies, business or public policy. Candidates close to completing their under-/post-graduate degrees will be considered as well.

The position involves activities totalling a maximum of 100 hours over the above-mentioned period. The salary band is fixed to Step 1 RA; $23.50 per hour.
