Drive student engagement by organising and managing student events on campus and online:

The Student Experience Officer role is responsible for coordinating and implementing a calendar of student events, including orientation and graduation, as well as regular weekly activities and larger scale events. The Student Experience Officer assists Student and Academic Services, the Marketing and Academic teams to promote student engagement, belonging and wellbeing. The role is customer facing, whereby day-to-day duties will also be dealing with in-person enquiries at reception, via email and over the phone. Key to this role is the planning, promotion and execution of events, workshops and student programs, including the student mentor program and student representative groups.

  

Key selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual and reliable, meet deadlines and deal with competing priorities;
  • Excellent attention to detail, including record keeping, proofreading and editing skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to relate well to students and professionals;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Sense of responsibility and commitment to education;
  • Experience with organising, promoting and running events within a budget;
  • IT literacy and experience (e.g. student engagement or learning platforms such as Moodle, dedicated engagement platforms, social media etc.);
  • Excellent communication skills, outgoing and approachable manner;
  • Knowledge of languages other than English a distinct advantage.

Notes to applicants:

  • Work hours can be scheduled around student availability and timetable – up to 20 hours per week between 8.00am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday
