Senior Process Engineer - Turbine Island (1233585) Derby, England

Our Client specialises in the Nuclear Sector.

  • Support the Systems Lead in delivering the engineering activities for the Turbine Island. This will involve owning your delegated scope and delivering the required engineering output e.g. Report, specifications and drawings
  • Support multi-attribute scoring of alternative options to support engineering decision making to determine optimum system design.
  • Deliver the design work to meet the programme and quality requirements. For example Heat and Mass Balance calculations, Fluid flow calculations, PIDs and PFDs and Thermal, Fluid modelling.
  • Work with the other SMR Island engineering functions and engineering disciplines to deliver an integrated multi-disciplinary system design.
  • Support in the development and refinement of requirements using a system engineering approach based on the overall project requirements.
  • Attend and input to presentation of designs to stakeholders as well as supporting other technical reviews (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Optioneering meetings, etc).

Profile

Your Background:

This role would suit someone who is looking for a challenge in developing the future of the UK Power Generation. The candidate should be able to use their technical skills to innovate, challenge the design and develop fit for purpose solutions for a Nuclear Power Plant.

You will understand UK health and safety legislation and the requirements and constraints this imposes on your designs.

You will have an understanding of working within a broader project context and understand the requirements of delivering within required timescales and to the required quality standard.

You will be able to communicate your ideas and technical solutions in English to people of all levels of technical knowledge both by written and verbal means.

You will have a technical background in Turbine Island, Conventional Power, Process Engineering and or water systems and these skills will fit well into our established and growing team.

You will preferably be working towards Full Membership (Incorporated or Chartered) with an appropriate Engineering institute.
