Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver (Flexible to Class 2 Work)
Location: Witney
Salary: £37,500 – £42,500 per annum
Hours: 40 – 45 hours per week

 

About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and flexible HGV Class 1 Driver who is also happy to undertake Class 2 driving when required. This role involves delivering products for a busy meat processing plant, ensuring goods are transported safely, efficiently, and in line with all compliance standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out deliveries and collections in a timely and professional manner
  • Operate both Class 1 (C+E) and Class 2 (Category C) vehicles as required
  • Load and unload vehicles, including handling chilled meat products
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and paperwork is correctly filled out
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in line with food industry regulations
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
  • Adhere to all driving laws, tachograph regulations, and health & safety procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients and site staff
 

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • Willingness to drive Class 2 vehicles when needed
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Previous experience in a similar driving role preferred
  • Comfortable working with meat products and within a food production environment
  • Good level of physical fitness (manual handling involved)
  • Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
  • Good communication and time management skills
