Salary; £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Our client is looking for a Business Development Executive to play a key part in their future success in the UK. The role is designed to support the Business Development Manager to grow the Technical Services activities across all designated industries, focussing on their key strategic initiatives:

  • Grow sales revenue
  • Business margin enhancement
  • Developing a high performing sales organisation
  • Support development of efficient and effective processes and reporting

The hours for this role will be Monday to Friday 40 hours per week with one day at the head office in Birmingham. The rest will be remote working and out on the field selling to new clients / customers.

Main responsibilities;

  • Responsible for supporting the growth in the company’s market share in the technical services arena
  • Contribute to the planned growth of the company’s turnover and profitability by seeking out and winning new technical services business utilising your own network as well as the company’s current customer database/relationships
  • Driving engagement through LinkedIn, email, and telephone calls, to generate both face-to-face and virtual meetings for our clients
  • Attend relevant events and shows, develop the company brand using thought leadership, ensure strong meaningful relationships are built with key accounts decision makers
  • Use personal relationships with customers to gain an understanding of current ongoing business and the potential for future business expansion
  • Ensuring accurate on time sales forecasting of pipeline opportunities achievement against objectives consistent with the group strategy
  • Constantly review and update benchmark position of the company against competitors - use this information to support further developing the ongoing business strategy through identification of sales leads
  • Accurately report on and update our CRM system to provide intelligence on prospects and pipeline for our clients
  • Responsible for sales activities, work closely with your functional peers, ensuring quotations and presentations are prepared well in advance of deadlines and ensuring all customer visits are documented through reports and the sales process
  • Work hand in hand with Operations and Talent Acquisition to ensure the correct technical skills are recruited and retained and inefficiency minimised by new technical business being won
  • Ensure compliance with the Group commercial pricing and sales strategies, while working within the corporate entertainment and gifts guidelines

Required / Qualifications; 

  • Resilience and persistence with the ability to interact, engage and communicate effectively at all levels within the business, client base and supply chain is imperative
  • Excellent attention to detail in all areas of the business, reporting and communication
  • Strong team player – This role is central to all activities and the entire success of the business therefore ensuring all teams are working together is essential.
  • Energy, Drive, Commitment and Tenacity are all key skills required in this role
  • Confident – there are many strong-minded individuals within the business, therefore the successful candidate will have the ability to instil confidence and communicate effectively.
  • You must excel at influencing and have a proven track record of lead generation using the telephone, email and LinkedIn
  • Strong Experience & understanding of Manufacturing and Technical Services Industry with 5+ years’ experience desirable
  • The role is based in the UK and will require extensive travel within the Midlands and South Regions
