Overview

We are looking for an experienced New Product Introduction (NPI) Manager to join our clients growing New Product Development team. This role will focus on taking innovative product ideas from concept through to successful production and market launch.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the full product lifecycle, ensuring new products are developed efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered to market successfully.

This position would suit someone who is mechanically minded, comfortable working with technical drawings and design documentation, and experienced in bringing new products to market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end New Product Introduction (NPI) process, from concept through to production and launch.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, production, and commercial teams to ensure smooth product development.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings and design documentation to support product development and manufacturability.
  • Coordinate prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
  • Ensure new products are developed in line with cost, quality, and time objectives.
  • Identify and resolve potential technical or production challenges during the development process.
  • Support the transition of products from development into full-scale production.
  • Maintain clear project timelines and ensure stakeholders are kept informed throughout the process.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve product development and NPI processes.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Product Development, or New Product Development (NPD).
  • Experience managing the process of taking a product from concept to production.
  • Mechanically minded with the ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset.

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Engineering or technical background.
  • Experience working with manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Exposure to product testing, prototyping, or design review processes.
  • Knowledge of product lifecycle management or stage-gate development processes.
