Field Service Engineer – Compactors & Balers

Location: Home-based - Nottingham, Leicester, Northampton & surrounding areas ideal locations

Salary: £32,000 Basic | OTE: £45,000+

Are you a hands-on engineer looking for a stable, nationwide field role with high earning potential? We are recruiting for a dedicated PPM Service Engineer to join a specialised team who focus solely on a major national supermarket contract.

This role is perfect for someone with solid mechanical and basic electrical skills who is eager to learn and willing to travel.


The Role

You will be responsible for the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) of small to mid-sized waste compactors and balers, ensuring safety, functionality, and maintaining great relationships with site managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting PPMs on vertical and horizontal balers across the UK mainland.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving basic electrical and hydraulic issues.

  • Providing clear service reports and feedback to both customers and the Service Manager.


What We Are Looking For

We need someone who is keen to learn and will take pride in their work. If you have a background in the Armed Forces, or experience maintaining electrical/hydraulic equipment such as forklifts or lifts, your skills will likely transfer perfectly.

  • Experience: Proven field service background.

  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical knowledge.

  • Mindset: A positive attitude, a willingness to undergo further training, and a commitment to health and safety.

  • Location: Ideally based along the M1 corridor for easy dispatch.
