Online Computer Science Tutor (PR-1534181) England

Salary: GBP20 - GBP20 per hour

Position: Online Computer Science Tutor

Student: Year 10

Schedule: 5 hours/week (1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday; slight flexibility available)

Location: Remote / Online

About the Role

We are seeking an empathetic and adaptable Online Tutor to provide 1-on-1 Computer Science support for a Year 10 student (NS). Due to health-related pain and fatigue, NS is currently learning remotely and needs tailored support to help build his academic confidence and engagement.

Key Responsibilities & Student Profile

  • Subject Support: Deliver engaging, accessible 1-on-1 Computer Science sessions tailored to the student's pace.

  • Level & Curriculum: Assess and pitch content appropriately. While currently working below age-related expectations in core subjects (English/Maths) and previously accessing lower-level curriculum materials, he is gaining confidence—content should challenge him without overwhelming him.

  • SEND Needs: Support a student with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Adapt teaching style to accommodate health-related fatigue and learning requirements.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong background or experience teaching/tutoring Computer Science.

  • Proven experience supporting students with ASD / Special Educational Needs (SEND).

  • Patient, encouraging approach with a focus on building confidence.

  • Ability to deliver structured, highly supportive online sessions.

Option 2: Quick & Direct (Great for Broadcast Email / Agency Alert)

Student Overview: We are looking for a supportive tutor for a Year 10 student with ASD who is currently learning from home due to pain and fatigue. He is growing in confidence and starting to make great progress, but requires a tailored approach.

The ideal tutor will be able to pitch Computer Science content at an accessible level (balancing lower working levels in core subjects while offering appropriate challenge) and foster a positive, encouraging online learning environment.
