 Role & Responsibilities:

  • The Head of Supply Chain & Cost Management is a senior leadership role responsible for controlling material spend, supplier strategy, and cost performance across all manufacturing jobs.
  • This role leads supplier negotiations on the company’s highest-value spend categories, managing the purchasing and production planning functions, and ensures accurate cost monitoring on all manufactured products.
  • The position works closely with Operations, Finance, and Production teams to maintain strong margins, ensure material availability, and deliver efficient production planning.
  • Maintain reliable supply of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Improve margin visibility and cost control on all manufacturing jobs.
  • Manage and support the Production Planner to ensure efficient scheduling of manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with company strategy.
  • Lead negotiations with key suppliers on major spend categories to secure optimal pricing, terms, and supply agreements.
  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing, and long-term agreements.
  • Monitor and review material and production costs for each manufacturing job.
  • Work closely with Finance to track margins and identify cost variances.
  • Implement processes for accurate cost tracking and reporting

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Significant experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills, particularly with high-value suppliers.
  • Experience managing purchasing teams and production planning functions.
  • Strong financial awareness and experience with cost analysis and margin management.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and engineering teams.
  • Experience implementing ERP/MRP systems for procurement and planning.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing and supplier contract management.
  • Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
