Are you a motivated and reliable individual looking to level-up your Electrical career in Cairns? MEGT has a fantastic opportunity with one of our clients for a 2nd or 3rd Year Electrical Apprentice based in Cairns to take on Industrial Switchboard projects and site installations.

About the role:

Take the next step in your career as an Electrical Apprentice within the industrial switchboard manufacturing industries performing cabling, loom wiring, switchgear installations, diagnostics and fit-outs.

• Hands-on learning: Get involved from day one on real work sites — from switchboard manufacture, control panels, circuit diagnostics, electrical wiring and schematic drawings to site installations and commissioning.
• Develop: Learn industry skills such as control wiring & looming, busbar manufacturing and switchgear installation.
• Be part of something new: Contribute to the Electrical teams within the Cairns Region area while also learning from experienced trades professionals.
• Support and training: Work alongside a dedicated electrical team who’ll help you develop your technical skills and industry knowledge
• Safety and teamwork: You’ll join a team that values workplace safety, initiative, and a strong commitment to learning and improvement.

What we are looking for:

• Genuine interest in developing a trade career as an Electrician within a the industrial and commercial switchboard industries.
• Strong commitment to safety and willingness to follow workplace procedures and supervision.
• Practical mindset with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail in hands-on work.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while showing initiative and eagerness to learn.
