JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience building RESTful APIs and microservices to join our backend engineering team. Over the next 18 months they are re-structuring their content data schema and re-architecting their infrastructure and platform to r excellent unique content via API’s that will be able to serve internal and third-party publishing platforms such as our websites, apps, Google AMP, Apple News and their ionternal video streaming platforms.
The right candidate for the role will have strong experience working in either Python, PHP or Golang to build RESTful APIs and microservices. They will be experienced working within an agile team that practices test driven development to ensure they are prioritising the delivering of high-quality products without compromise. They are working towards instilling a wider DevOps culture within the engineering team that will actively take responsibility for building, deploying and supporting the software that they are developing. We are setup in AWS so experience with cloud systems within AWS, Google Cloud or Azure will be of great benefit.

REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
● 5+ years proven experience as a Senior Engineer.
● Strong knowledge of either PHP or Python and developing using Object Oriented Programming principles.
● In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
● Strong experience of writing secure code that can be tested within an automated testing
framework.
● Experience in implementing robust services and RESTful API's to power web applications.
● Experience in designing and building robust microservices.
● Experience with Golang.
● Experience working within a DevOps culture bridging the traditional gap between Developers and Operations teams
● Experience using AWS, Google Cloud or Azure technologies.
● Experience working within teams practicing agile sprint methodologies.
