Small boutique derivatives trading firm are growing and looking for a skilled Windows Administrator with an interest in financial markets and software development ambitions to join their small team as they expand into 2021.
Mandatory Skills:
- Experience with Windows Administration, keeping track of user accounts, Active Directory, hardware/software inventory and management, etc
- Configure routers, familiar with network setup and security
- Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup.
- Good team skills
- Motivated toward helping to build a good, stable and secure environment
Highly regarded:
- Experience working in financial markets or an understanding of the trading environment
- Proven experience in prior Windows Admin roles
- Ideal candidate may have an interest in programming/software-development (C#, Python),
and would have an opportunity to work directly with and learn from a senior developer
General responsibilities:
- Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
- Discussing system and server upgrades with IT managers.
- Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers.
- Providing technical support for staff and back-end system users.
- Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
- Monitoring and updating the Windows codebase.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting
- Maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups.
- There is an opportunity to learn and improving software development skills, with the ultimate goal of moving to development and engineering contributing to key applications
