Laboratory Assistant / Technician

Due to continued product development and growth, a leading specialist equipment manufacturer, now has a need for additional support to join the Laboratory Team.

The organisation offers excellent training and career development, with a UK headquarters and manufacturing facility based in Oxfordshire, and a global presence of over 10,000 employees.

Key Responsibilities:

To perform laboratory testing according to internal procedures and associated quality standards.

Examples of which are as follows:

• Identification of particle contamination through patch testing, microscopy and particle counting equipment.
  • Measurement of water content using a Karl Fischer Titrator.
  • Measurement of fluid aging properties through TAN and MPC analysis techniques.
  • Component cleanliness testing.
• To assist in quality control of manufactured products through component cleanliness testing.
• To perform relevant laboratory administration when required (sample paperwork, quotes, orders etc.).
• To liaise with customers regarding analysis reports

Additionally, there may be opportunities to visit a vast array of customers alongside colleagues from other departments.

 Essential Requirements:

• A-Level or equivalent in Chemistry/Science
• Scientific aptitude
• Ability to problem solve
• Good organisation skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Ability to work under own initiative
• Good IT skills using Excel, Word and Outlook
• Commitment to personal development

Desirable:

• BSc in Chemistry 
• Working in a clean environment
• Working with fluids
