VAC FORMING OPERATIVE

We are recruiting an experienced Vac Forming Operative to join a highly rated manufacturing company based on Melton Industrial Estate (HU14). This is a fantastic opportunity that offers permanent placements with a starting pay rate of £13.32ph, with any overtime paid at premium rates.

Shift pattern / Working hours

Monday to Friday rotating shifts:

  • Week 1: Mon–Thur 6am–2:30pm & Fri 6am–10:50am
  • Week 2: Mon–Thur 2:30pm–12:10am (off on a Friday)

Start date / Duration

The Vac Forming Operative role is a Temp to Perm contract starting immediately. If you have a notice period with your current employer, we can work around that.

Job description

As a Vac Forming Operative, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality plastic products by operating vacuum forming machinery. Your duties will include:

  • Machine Operation: Using vacuum forming machines to heat and shape plastic sheets.
  • Mould Placement: Preparing and positioning molds in the machine.
  • Forming the Plastic: Ensuring plastic sheets are correctly formed over molds using vacuum pressure.
  • Cooling and Setting: Monitoring cooling cycles and ensuring products set correctly.
  • Part Removal & Finishing: Removing formed parts, trimming excess plastic, and finishing to meet client specifications.
  • Quality Checks: Inspecting products for defects and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Health & Safety: Following all safety procedures and keeping work areas clean and tidy.

The successful candidate

To be considered for this position, you MUST:

  • Have your own car/motorbike due to location.
  • Be physically fit and able to lift up to 25kg.
  • Be willing to learn new skills quickly.
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to progress.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ideally have experience in machinery operation, plastic forming, or manufacturing (training provided).
