INITIAL CONTACT POINT WORKER
Working in Partnership with our client, we are recruiting a confident and professional Initial Contact Point Worker to join the Integrated Front Door ( IFD) service within Children’s Social Care in North East Lincolnshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a individual seeking full – time, office – based work, playing a pivotal role at the very start of a child’s journey.
Shift pattern/ Working hours:
Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm (Office Based – 5 days per week)

The Initial Contact Point Worker will commence as soon as possible. This is a temporary role.
Job Description
We are seeking a calm and detail-oriented Initial Contact Point Worker to respond to contacts relating to children not currently open to Children’s Social Care or Family Help. Using a strengths-based approach, you will gather high-quality information from professionals and members of the public, including managing sensitive or challenging conversations. You will accurately record information on Liquidlogic, complete multi-agency checks, assess risk and determine whether contacts require Family Help support or safeguarding escalation. This role requires sound judgement, professional curiosity and the ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive, child-focused team.
Responsibilities:
· Receiving, reviewing and responding to requests for support or protection for children
· Gathering, analysing and recording accurate information using a strengths-based approach
· Identifying safeguarding concerns and escalating appropriately
· Undertaking multi-agency information checks
· Providing clear advice, guidance and support to families and partner agencies
· Contributing to holistic decision-making with partner agencies
· Maintaining robust and accurate case records in line with policy and procedure
· Managing competing priorities in a fast-paced front door environment
· Championing good practice and contributing to continuous service
Requirements:
· Level 3 qualification (or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience) in a relevant area
· Experience working with children and families, particularly where neglect or complex needs are present.
· Strong knowledge of child protection procedures, legislation and child development
· Confident in managing difficult conversations and demonstrating professional challenge
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· High Level organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
· Competent ICT skills, including experience with case management systems
· Ability to travel across Northeast Lincolnshire as required
· Enhanced DBS needed.
