The Language Quality Lead is responsible for managing all aspects of the linguistic elements on assigned project.
Responsibilities:
- Linguistic evaluation of source files from clients to establish the project scope and identify any linguistic issues.
- Determine the appropriate translation process from pre to post production to achieve the required quality under the agreed schedule and cost restraints.
- Linguistic Preparation to include instructions and kit preparation.
- Managing translation vendors, linguistic queries and linguistic issue resolution during translation.
- Check deliverables for completeness at each step in translation processes.
- Proactively manage QAs, track QAs and analyse the results of the QAs performed.
- ICR management including kit preparation, ICR feedback review, management, issue resolution and analysis.
- Provide feedback to vendors on vendor performance.
- (Linguistic) signoff of final files for client delivery.Language Asset Management update including TM management and update, document template(s) update terminology management and ICR information update.
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in a translation / localization industry
- Knowledge of file formats (FM, Word, HTML, XML etc)
- Excellent mother tongue in one of EU languages
- Good knowledge of at least 1 other language
- Experienced user of software translation tools, TRADOS applications and terminology databases
- Degree in translation preferred.
