MRD Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing manufacturing business that is looking to strengthen its procurement team with the addition of an experienced Senior Buyer. Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers that align with the company’s quality, cost, and delivery requirements
• Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and terms to achieve cost-effective procurement
• Raise, monitor, and manage purchase orders in line with production schedules
• Liaise closely with production, planning, engineering, and logistics teams to ensure materials are available when needed
• Track supplier performance and manage resolution of delivery or quality issues
• Maintain up-to-date purchasing records, pricing data, and supplier agreements
• Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
• Ensure all procurement activity complies with company policies and industry standards

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven purchasing/procurement experience within a manufacturing setting
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills
• Good understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles
• Confident communicator with the ability to build positive internal and external relationships
