Procurement Manager (MRD/0332) Falkirk, Scotland

Salary: GBP50000 - GBP60000 per annum

MRD Recruitment is currently recruiting a Procurement Manager for one of our manufacturing clients in Falkirk.

The Role:
As Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of the company’s procurement function, managing supplier relationships, optimising costs, and ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to make a tangible impact on business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliability.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and finance teams.
  • Monitor market trends, risks, and opportunities to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a procurement team to deliver operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal requirements, and company standards.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or timelines.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in supply chain, business, or related field.
