We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical fitter / Maintenance Engineer for a world-renowned manufacturing company based in Poole.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of plant and equipment as necessary to ensure the effective running of the production facility.
- Taking direct responsibility for fault diagnosis, rectification and modification of production plant and breakdwons of machinery.
- Responding quickly and effectively as possible to plant and machinery breakdowns.
- To understand the layout of electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings.
- Developing the site PPM programme, implementing and recommending improvements. PPMs to be completed during 4 shift patten
- To support the successful introduction of new manufacturing equipment and services.
- To operate panel vision driven equipment.
- Liaise with Maintenance Manager to arrange the purchase of equipment, materials and/or parts as necessary.
- To contribute to the compilation and production of work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- To comply with Company policies, health & safety and quality & hygiene standards
- To contribute towards Company efficiency and improvement activities in line with site objectives.
Essential Skills/Experince
- Time served and/or completed a recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC)
- Previous experience in manufacturing (production line environment)
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Ability to take responsibility for running of shift
- Multi-skilled
- Electrical fault finding
- Previous experience in manufacturing (production line environment)
- Basic PLC and drive knowledge (Siemens)
- 17th Edition qualified
