Hardware Manager (Aerospace / Defence)
Duration: 6 months
Location: Stevenage
An opportunity has arisen within an Architecture team to manage the Hardware Delivery for a development programme.
You will be required to capture and manage hardware needs by:
• Understanding the Objectives for each Missile Trial.
• Capturing and collating needs for development hardware at System-level.
• Generate and manage Hardware Lists (and Configuration Notes).
• Ensuring that all H/W needs are provided to the RMOs.
• Incrementally populate H/W Spreadsheet with Applicable Configuration data.
• Adapt as-necessary to changing needs of the programme.
• Facilitate trades for Performance and Availability.
• Negotiate with local Stakeholders.
• Secure and manage “predicted” dates from RMOs.
• Provide these delivery dates to the Project Management team and participate within Critical Path Analysis (CPA).
Skills & Experience:
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Good organisational and administrative skills
• Ability to work in a team and on own initiative
• Ability to foster and maintain excellent working relationships
• Ability to work within a complex multiple stakeholder environment
• Ability to work to strict and/or conflicting deadlines
• Ability to produce professional and concise documentation
• Experience with Primavera P6 (inc. Work Package Management Training)
• Experience with MS Office inc. Excel, Powerpoint, Word
• Appreciation of Weapon Sub-System and Equipment assembly
• UK travel required
The Hardware Manager role will involve working on UK classified programmes the candidate must therefore be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
