Senior Electrical Engineer | Building Services (3485187) Sydney, Australia

Salary: AUD120000 - AUD150000 per annum

• Work directly with Directors in a close-knit, high-trust team
• Diverse projects – education, commercial, retail, government, and fit-outs
• True flexibility, autonomy, and a ‘no-ego’ culture

Is this you?

You’re a technically strong Electrical Engineer who’s ready for more ownership — projects, clients, and outcomes. You’ve mastered the design fundamentals and are looking for a smaller consultancy where your ideas matter and your growth won’t get lost in layers of management.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You’ll join a boutique engineering consultancy known for its smart, client-focused design approach across commercial, education, government, and retail projects. You’ll work directly with the Directors, gaining hands-on exposure from concept through to construction, and get the chance to shape how things are done — not just follow process.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Design and deliver electrical services including lighting, power, comms, and security

  • Liaise directly with clients and project managers, supported (not micromanaged) by senior leadership

  • Use AutoCAD for minor updates and coordinate drafting with external resources

  • Collaborate with an in-house architecture team for seamless project delivery

No silos. No bureaucracy. Just real engineering.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll be based in a modern, light-filled office in Darlinghurst right by Gadigal Station. The team blends time in the office with work-from-home flexibility (usually 2–3 days in). It’s a genuinely social environment shared with a friendly architecture firm — you’ll never walk into an empty office.

What you’ll need

  • Around 5+ years’ experience in electrical building services design

  • Strong technical ability with the confidence to work autonomously

  • Solid communication skills — comfortable talking both tech and practical outcomes

  • CAD proficiency (Revit exposure a bonus) and familiarity with Bluebeam

  • Most importantly: a collaborative mindset and “no egos" approach — because culture comes first

What’s in it for you

  • $120k–$140k + Super (negotiable)

  • Flexible working – typically 2–3 office days

  • Direct access to the directors and mentoring to fast-track your development

  • Exposure to a variety of clients — Westpac, McDonald’s, NSW Government, Westfield, schools, and more

  • The chance to help shape the future of a growing, design-driven consultancy

If you’re tired of red tape and want to work somewhere that values initiative, trust, and balance, this could be your next move.
