Telecom Tester (Station and Ship)
Location: Worldwide
Tasks:
- Perform SLTE and PFE testing and validation after installation
- Verification and testing of internal and external fibers up to 1st Repeater (OTDR) and beyond (COTDR)
- Perform tests with the cable ship during the IR and Reflectometry landing test
- Configuration and testing of equipment according to project (PC, switch, router, IP Phone, etc.)
- Customer support and short training
- Commissioning after full underwater fiber laying
- Communication with all project stations to test and validate with the Customer
- Test SDH and DWDM links up to 200 Gig (XWAVE Card)
Criteria:
- Areas of expertise (Networks: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, Telecom: SDH/PDH, WDM, DWDM, Equipment: Cisco Router and Switch)
- Technical skills in telecoms (ideally engineer)
- Diplomas: DUT Electrical Engineering & Industrial Computer Science/ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Professional Optronic License (fiber optics, electronics & optics)
- English speaks and writes
- Electrical clearance
- Motivate to work in export and sea conditions (difficult, promiscuity, difficult external communications)
