Finance Director ANZ (BBBH5200) SE Suburbs Melbourne, Australia

Salary: AUD170000 - AUD190000 per annum + Generous bonus scheme

This commercially oriented Finance Director position sits within a specialist subsidiary of an internationally renowned business delivering highly engineered products and related services, based in Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs.  Servicing the Australia and New Zealand markets, this business enjoys a loyal client base across multiple business sectors, ranging from SMEs to household name multi-nationals.  With a stable, multicultural, and diverse workforce, the business enjoys a respectful, trusting, and non-hierarchical culture where everyone has a voice.

Following a recent transformation program, an opportunity now exists to bring new systems and processes to life and to steer the team on a range of efficiency gains, whilst delivering enhanced strategic support to the Managing Director as the business continues to service existing clients and add new products and services. Forming part of the executive leadership team, the FD will have day to day responsibility for financial control, FP&A/commercial, IT, and logistics, and is well supported by a highly expert team of direct reports.

Key responsibilities:-

  • Ensure all accounting and reporting activity is delivered in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Drive all budgeting and forecasting activities at a local level, as well as periodic reporting and commentary to head office (based in Europe)
  • Act as a commercial counterpart to the Managing Director in the support of strategic and tactical decision making
  • Capitalising on the recent implementation of new ERP and CRM systems, review and re-design the suite of business reports to provide best in class, modern reporting for a range of stakeholders
  • Support the sales and service business units with articulate and insightful advice relating to commercial constructs, pricing, and contract management
  • Enhance the ongoing commercial value proposition to the wider business, through astute mentoring and development of the finance and logistics teams
  • Manage local stock levels and in time customer deliveries including appropriate provisions
  • Implement, maintain, and control a local risk and control framework
  • Conduct statutory audits and manage the interface with head office
  • Oversee all legal entity related financial requirements (audit, tax etc)
  • Tax and company secretarial responsibilities

Key requirements:-

  • CA/CPA qualified, you will ideally bring prior experience in a similar role, or be ready to make the step up having been mentored towards FD/CFO level in a SME or division of a larger business
  • A decisive business partner with highly developed commercial acumen, you are inquisitive, entrepreneurially minded, and enjoy acting as a sounding board for other executive leaders
  • With prior leadership experience, you are a natural and confident leader of diverse teams who enjoys mentoring and developing team members to deliver a modern commercial business partnering approach
  • You will bring strong systems expertise, ideally with exposure to SAP and Salesforce
  • Prior experience in a B2B business environment is essential, and exposure to logistics is highly advantageous
