Structural Engineer (Concrete/Steel) (141025) Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Structural Design:
- Produce design documents for all phases, ensuring compliance with international standards and local codes.
- Perform structural analysis using standards such as ASCE-7, IBC, ACI-318, AISC-360, EN-BS, etc.
- Develop structural models and drawings using AutoCAD, REVIT, and structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Robot).
- Supervise draftsmen or sub-consultants to ensure timely and quality deliverables.
- Coordinate with architecture, MEP, and other disciplines.
- Assist with Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and technical evaluations.
- Review deliverables for QA/QC, compliance, and accuracy.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
Construction supervision
- Coordinate with consultants and contractors on technical matters.
- Review and validate submittals (shop drawings, materials, method statements, etc.).
- Support claim management and contractual compliance.
- Monitor construction quality, inspect work progress, and ensure specification compliance.
- Attend site meetings and manage on-site teams and inspectors.
- Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
- Ensure project handover is aligned with performance and contract requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of structural design experience, including 5 years on airport or commercial building projects.
- Membership in a recognized engineering society is mandatory.
- Local engineering authority licenses/certifications are required (e.g., G+12 or equivalent, if applicable).
- Experience with international codes and standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT/BIM, and structural analysis software.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles.
- Excellent command of MS Office and document authoring tools.
- Previous GCC experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness for international mobility.
