We are looking for a Environmental and Social Expert for Technical Assistance to Project Management (ATMO) for one of our clients with the following details:

Start date : ASAP

Duration: 3.5 years - renewable

Location: Djibouti

Qualifications and experience required:

• Engineering or university degree (Bac + 4 minimum) in environmental sciences, geography, spatial planning or social sciences, or any other equivalent degree ;
• General experience of eight (08) years in monitoring the implementation of measures to mitigate the socio-environmental impacts of urban/peri-urban infrastructure, sanitation and roads works under international financing and in connection with WB/IFC standards ;
• Have carried out at least two (02) similar missions in the monitoring of the implementation of measures to mitigate the environmental and social impacts of works in urban/peri-urban areas ;
• At least two (02) experiences on projects where the WB's environmental and social safeguard standards have been deployed ;
• Perfect knowledge and mastery of French, both written and oral
• Years of global experience : 10 years
• Years of experience in the specific field : 10 years of general experience in solid8️ waste management.
• Language : French

Activities:

• Support to the ADDS in all its E&S tasks and responsibilities, including in particular the implementation of the commitments of the PEES, PGES, PRMS and PAG, the supervision of E&S services, interface for the supervision and E&S monitoring of operations during the preparatory phase, works and operation of the CET in coordination with the control office
• Contribution to capacity building of ADDS staff and other project stakeholders on E&S issues
• Participation in the monitoring and evaluation process on E&S aspects
