About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead workshop and MRO operations within an EASA Part 145 approved environment. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and on-time delivery of maintenance services while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.

You will play a key role in driving shop floor performance, technical decision-making, and continuous improvement, with accountability for turnaround time, cost control, workforce capability, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve the MRO maintenance strategy in line with EASA Part 145 requirements.

  • Ensure full regulatory compliance with EASA Part 145, MOE procedures, safety standards, and quality management systems.

  • Lead day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and on-time redelivery.

  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and safety components.

  • Make and oversee technical airworthiness decisions in accordance with approved data and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure operational readiness of tooling, test benches, and workshop equipment.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop certifying staff, technicians, and support personnel.

  • Monitor and optimise turnaround time (TAT), productivity, and workshop KPIs.

  • Manage external MRO vendors and component service providers.

  • Control maintenance budgets, labour efficiency, material usage, and capital investments.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality findings and operational deviations.

  • Support internal and external audits (regulatory and customer) and ensure timely closure of findings.

  • Promote a strong safety culture and human factors awareness across the workshop.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a workshop leadership role within an EASA Part 145 approved MRO environment.

  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical, hydraulic, and/or safety components.

  • In-depth knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations, MOE structure, and aviation quality systems.

  • Experience managing certifying staff and liaising with airworthiness authorities.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-compliance, performance-driven setting.

  • Strong understanding of TAT management, capacity planning, and lean workshop optimisation.

  • Experience using ERP systems, maintenance planning tools, and component tracking systems.

  • Demonstrated success in cost control, KPI management, and operational improvement initiatives.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage customers, auditors, and regulators.
