Founded in 1998, KWHB is a fully accredited Aboriginal community-controlled health service based across the rolling river and desert country of the remote outback region to the southwest of Katherine in Australia’s Northern Territory.

What’s the role?
Duties include:

  • Provide high quality exercise and movement assessment and support for individual clients in the Katherine West region
  • Ensure integrated service delivery and follow up, coordinated and communicated as required with health leadership, internal and external providers and visiting staff
  • Provide follow up monitoring and care as directed through health assessment/TCA/GPMP
  • Provide training in relevant areas to RANs and other KWHB team members as well as participate in CQI cycles
  • Coordination, as required with other relevant internal, visiting and external providers

Is this the right role for you?
Not limited to but before you apply, we need you to have:

  • Undergraduate or post graduate qualification in Exercise Physiology and registration with ESSA
  • Experience in working and communicating with Aboriginal people (or another cross cultural setting) and have strong commitment to improving health outcomes for people living in remote communities
  • Knowledge of health related issues affecting remote Aboriginal communities
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and information in a clear and informative way to clients with a wide range of levels of literacy and formal education.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high quality assessment and intervention programs for clients with chronic disease in a professional, confidential and culturally safe manner.
