• Base Salary $93,697 - $102,531 (pro rata) p.a.

What’s the role?

The Audiologist provides culturally-responsive, high-quality and safe audiology services for Aboriginal clients within the Alice Springs community across a variety of clinical and community settings. The Audiologist works in a targeted way to meet the ear-health needs of clients, with a particular emphasis on preventative care and early intervention, through community engagement, screening, assessment, and management.

Duties include:

• Provide a culturally safe and effective audiology service to clients to promote preventative care and early intervention
• Assess and manage the auditory issues of clients in accordance with evidencebased practice
• Prioritise allocation of resources to optimise community access to hearing tests; develop and foster partnerships to collaborate with aged care services, schools, community organisations, and other agencies where appropriate
• Facilitate the continuum of care for clients needing further audiology or medical input through collaboration and referral to other health services
• Act as the focal point for Congress staff around audiology services and ear health

Is this the right role for you?
Not limited to but before you apply, we need you to have:

• Recognised as a qualified practitioner with either full membership with Audiology Australia Limited and a Certificate of Clinical Practice (CCP), and/or Ordinary membership with the Australian College of Audiology (ACAud) with competency in Hearing Aid Dispensary, and been issued with a qualified practitioner number
• Broad clinical experience in primary health care including skills in planning, coordinating and decision making within a clinical audiology setting
• Demonstrated well developed written, verbal and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment with Aboriginal clients and staff
• Employment with Congress is conditional on the employee providing NT Working with Children Check (Ochre Card), Satisfactory Criminal History Check
• Current Drivers Licence and a willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations
