Working for New Zealand’s leading egg producer, you will take pride in maintaining high standards in the chicken sheds. You will be responsible for maximising bird health and wellbeing, by providing an optimal environment through strong livestock management practices, good housekeeping and cleanliness whilst adhering to biosecurity standards.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU -

- Monday to Friday, and every third weekend (when you’ll take two weekdays off)

This is a good opportunity for someone wanting to start a career working with livestock. If you prove to be a great fit, you will be offered permanent work (with a rate increase) and further development. The company will pay for you to get your Forklift Licence.
WHAT IS THE ROLE -
- Sole charge of four computer-run sheds
- Routine checks on livestock/ feed/ water etc
- Record keeping, collecting data, check lists
- Reporting bird activity, any breakdowns
- Cleaning
- Basic maintenance and repairs
- Removal and disposal of dead birds
- Adhering to biosecurity and Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Overseeing other shed hands

- Reliable and responsible with initiative to work unsupervised
- Practical worker – perhaps a farming background
- Living within 15 minutes of Rangiora – every 3rd week you’ll be on-call monitoring alarms (allowance paid)
- Every 3rd week you’ll work Saturday and Sunday and have two weekdays off
