Vaco Staffing is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing construction company in Jacksonville, FL. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation, analysis, and maintenance of financial records in accordance with accounting principles. The Staff Accountant will collaborate closely with management to support financial decision-making and ensure compliance with reporting standards. Key Responsibilities

Monthly Close Process:

• Manage and coordinate the monthly close-out schedule, ensuring divisional managers receive timely notifications regarding deadlines.
• Perform month-end and year-end financial statement closings with accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements for individual divisions and the overall company.
• Generate and review monthly financial reports, providing insights to management as needed.
• Maintain and update the company's lease schedule.

Work In Progress (WIP) & Project Accounting:

• Collaborate with management to verify the accuracy of financial projections reflected in the Work In Progress (WIP) schedule.
• Calculate the percentage of completion for all projects within the Financial & Operations (F&O) system.

General Accounting Functions:

• Handle accounting tasks for smaller entities within the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review month-end balance sheet reconciliations and monthly accruals.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc reporting requests as directed by management.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Professionalism: Strong work ethic with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 (based on experience)

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: $65,000–$90,000 (based on experience). The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
