We’re partnering with a growing managed service provider looking to appoint an IT Field Technician to support clients across the South West.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a client-facing, hands-on role where you’ll have real autonomy, working closely with customers and playing a key part in delivering high-quality IT services.
This is a field-based position where you’ll take ownership of technical support across a regional client base. You’ll be responsible for resolving issues, managing escalations, and building strong relationships while ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Delivering on-site IT support to a range of clients
• Acting as the escalation point for more complex technical issues
• Managing customer relationships and providing a high level of service
• Supporting infrastructure, networking, and security environments
• Working across modern cloud-first environments and hybrid setups
• Ensuring systems, licenses, and assets are maintained and compliant
• Working to SLA targets and managing workload effectively
• Identifying opportunities for improvements and upgrades
• Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience in a 2nd / 3rd line IT support role
• Strong Microsoft ecosystem knowledge including:
• Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022) and Windows 10 / 11
• Active Directory & Azure AD / Entra ID
• Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams)
• Experience supporting and deploying Microsoft 365 environments end-to-end
• Hands-on experience with Intune (MDM / MAM enrolment, device management, policies)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite and endpoint security best practices
• Experience with networking fundamentals (routers, switches, VLANs, firewalls)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop, server, and cloud environments
• Confident communicator with strong customer-facing skills
• Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
• Experience with Microsoft 365 migrations and tenant builds
• Exposure to RMM and PSA tools (e.g. Datto, AutoTask, TeamViewer)
• Firewall configuration (WatchGuard or similar vendors)
• VoIP / 3CX systems knowledge
• Backup, disaster recovery, and data security best practices
• Experience working within an MSP environment
