Due to an increase in market share and investment, a Market Leading Manufacturing company has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Controller to join a brand-new unit. This role is perfect for an experienced Quality Professional with manufacturing experience, preferably within a labelling, printing or packaging context. 

With intensive training on specific processes there is true long-term development and progression in this role.

Role Description

• Checking ongoing production for critical specifications: internal and external diameter, length, moisture content, weight, crush value, gluing, coating and paper used
• Calling off raw and consumables
• Control of raw materials supplied
• Control of quality protocols of incoming goods
• Drawing up customer specifications
• Preparing sample specifications
• Internal complaint handling and monitoring the progress of complaint handling
• Registration of corrective and preventive measures taken in response to internal complaints
• Control of trial orders
• Assisting with training of production personnel
• Conducts daily consultations regarding production planning with the Production Supervisor, Operators, Logistic Supervisor, Account Manager and Sales & Marketing Manager.
• Direct input and participation in production planning
• Order and cleanliness of the quality department, equipment and machine tools
• Taking action on equipment problems.

Skills and Qualifications

• Competent in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, etc..
• Commercial awareness
• Customer focused – excellent communication and administrative skills
• flexible to respond to different task areas on a daily basis
• "hands on” mentality
• There is a 4 week training programme that includes ISO system management, product specication, SAP and production process training
