Technical Resources is looking for a Fire and Security Service Engineer to provide crucial support to both on-site engineers and clients. This role involves performing maintenance, managing reactive responses, and handling small to extra work tasks on various systems including CCTV, access control, and fire alarm systems, catering to both internal and external clients. Candidates with a multi-disciplinary background in Fire and Security and experience with large commercial clients will find this position particularly suited to their skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance on fire, security, and life safety systems.
  • Manage upgrades, repairs, and modifications according to contractual obligations.
  • Maintain active communication with the service centre and clients regarding service delivery metrics and compliance with service level agreements.
  • Design and deliver solutions in accordance with British Standards and client specifications.
  • Develop and sustain professional relationships with clients, ensuring continual service excellence.
  • Adhere strictly to health, safety, security, and environmental policies, promoting high discipline standards across all operations.
  • Complete and review risk assessments for all tasks.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation and reporting, including timesheets and mileage, as per company protocols.
  • Provide technical assessments and follow-up with detailed quotations for non-compliance issues.

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in servicing, maintaining, and installing systems such as CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and fire alarms.
  • Proficiency in multi-discipline engineering tasks.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant British Standards, NSI, and LPCB requirements.
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, capable of resolving issues effectively.
  • Proficient with PC and LAN/WAN networking, including operating systems.
  • Experience with system design, surveying, estimating, and preparing quotations.
  • Excellent project management skills, able to implement and adhere to a scheduled program of works.
  • Experience with asset management and strategic replacement planning.
  • Valid full UK driving licence.
  • GCSE or equivalent educational level with additional qualifications such as City & Guilds in electronic equipment installation.
  • Extensive training in Health & Safety protocols.
