Electrical Shift Engineer

We are recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer working 38 hours per week on average to support operations within a large, well-established manufacturing site. The role focuses on maintaining equipment reliability, improving maintenance efficiency, and supporting safe, continuous production.

The Role:

  • Provide electrical maintenance support across the site to minimise downtime.
  • Improve maintenance and operational efficiency through preventative and planned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Execute planned maintenance schedules to support equipment reliability and compliance.
  • Respond to breakdowns and unplanned stoppages, ensuring repairs are completed right first time.
  • Utilise the CMMS system fully, ensuring accurate work reporting and shift handovers.
  • Support and develop team members through coaching and on-the-job guidance.
  • Promote and maintain safe working practices at all times.

About You:

  • Minimum HNC in an Electrical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Completed a recognised four-year electrical apprenticeship (essential).
  • Strong experience with PLCs, HV/LV systems, fault finding, electrical machine maintenance, and isolation procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills, using data where possible.
  • Positive, proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and reliability.
