A dynamic new role has arisen with my client, an established international renewable energy developer, who are seeking a PPA Originator to join their growing operation in London in a hybrid working role. The PPA Originator is a new role created to support my client’s rapidly growing activities in Europe. The PPA Originator will be focused on building the origination businesses, increasing both the flow of deals as well as new market relationships. The successful candidate will be responsible in the negotiation of PPAs for my client’s renewables portfolio, as well as a key contributor in the assessment of revenues for new opportunities. This is a great opportunity to join a global giant in the renewable energy sector in a strategically important position for my client.
The Role
As a PPA Originator your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Build out and take ownership of my client’s PPA origination business in Europe, with main focus UK and Ireland.
- Identify, analyse, negotiate, and execute complex structured energy transactions with a focus on renewable PPAs.
- Expand the pipeline of sales opportunities by generating high quality leads.
- Build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders in multiple countries and at all levels.
- Maintain constant interaction with my client’s Project Development, Project Finance, and EPC teams, as necessary, to advance target transactions.
- Assess and translate competition, industry trends, emerging customer challenges, and regulatory changes in the marketplace into market strategies and product offerings.
Essential Skills / Qualifications:
As PPA Originator you will be required to demonstrate the following skills:
- 5+ years working experience in the energy sector of which 2+ years’ experience originating and contracting PPA within Europe as PPA Origination is required
- Strong understanding of UK renewables and power market
- Track record of utility and corporate PPA agreements in various energy markets
- Extensive personal network in the European PPA/energy market
- Strong commercial mindset and high level of initiative and self-motivation
- Combination of entrepreneur spirit, quantitative analysis, attention to details and communication skills to drive growth and revenue.
- Fluent English speaker
- Frequent regional travel will be required.
- Open to candidates legally entitled to work in the UK
