Contract & Claims Manager

About the Opportunity

An established organisation is seeking an experienced Contract & Claims Manager to join a major energy infrastructure project currently in delivery.

Working within the project team, you will take ownership of contract administration and claims management across both the head contract and EPC subcontract. This role is suited to someone with strong commercial acumen who enjoys managing complex contractual issues, mitigating risk and protecting project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage contract administration across the head contract and EPC subcontract throughout the project lifecycle.

• Review, assess and respond to contractual claims, including Extension of Time (EOT), cost claims, variations, force majeure and latent conditions.

• Prepare and pursue contractual entitlements where appropriate, while defending claims made against the project.

• Interpret and administer FIDIC-based (or equivalent) EPC contracts, identifying commercial risks and ensuring contractual compliance.

• Draft contractual correspondence, notices, variation submissions and claims documentation.

• Monitor contractor performance against contractual obligations and document non-compliance where required.

• Track key contractual milestones, notice periods and critical deadlines to preserve contractual rights.

• Support commercial risk assessments, claims strategy and reporting to senior stakeholders.

• Liaise with legal counsel, commercial teams and technical stakeholders to resolve contractual issues and disputes.

About You

You'll bring:

• A degree in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Commerce or a related discipline.

• 7–10 years' experience in contract management, claims management or contract administration on major EPC, construction or infrastructure projects.

• Proven experience administering both head contracts and subcontract arrangements.

• Strong working knowledge of FIDIC (or similar international EPC contract forms), including EOTs, variations, force majeure, latent conditions and dispute resolution.

• Demonstrated experience preparing, assessing and negotiating formal contractual claims.

• Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
