Senior Project Engineer (JO-2003-21539) London, England
Salary: | GBP36 - GBP38 per hour |
Introduction of Customer:
The Abu Dhabi Gas Development Company Ltd (ADNOC Sour Gas, a joint venture between ADNOC and OXY, hereafter referred to as COMPANY) owns and operates the Shah Gas Processing Plant (SGP) which receives and processes sour fluids from the nearby Shah Arab Sour Gas Field. The facilities were engineered and built through the Shah Gas Development (SGD) Program.
The Shah Plant, with a 21 km2 footprint, is located in the Liwa area, approx. 200 km south-west of Abu Dhabi city. The process includes extraction of highly sour gas (up to 25% H2S and 10% CO2) from 32 wells in the Shah Arab Sour Gas Field (which extends over 300 km2), gas gathering and transport to the Shah Plant, gas processing and separation into different products (sales gas, NGL, condensate, granulated sulphur) and product transport via pipelines and railway.
COMPANY has executed Maximum Production Project to increase capacity at Shah Gas Plant to 1260 MMSCFD from its original name plate capacity of 1000 MMSCFD at the inlet of HP Absorbers. Project was completed and commissioned (startup) in Q2/2018.
COMPANY has also carried out the FEED Phase of SGD Expansion-1 Project to increase the original SGP name plate capacity to 150%.
Project Scope
OPTIMUM SHAH GAS EXPANSION PROJECT
Company has carried out Concept study and concept selection for the Project. The recommended expansion strategy is to complete the appropriate equipment changes to achieve 1.45 BSCF with sufficient tie-ins required to expand to the final capacity in a 2 phase process.
• A nominal 1.45 BSCF capacity- to be achieved by 2022.
• Further Expansion to 1.85 BSCF
The brief details for 1.45 BSCF case is defined in below sections.
Gas Sweetening
The existing design for the AGRU is based on using DGA as the solvent for gas sweetening. There are limitations to the capacity which can be achieved with DGA and current operating issues have highlighted that the DGA reclaimer will need to be upgraded or replaced.
The benefits and limitations of all the potential solvents being assessed in the AGRU
Licensor selection study and a recommendation of solvent will be made.
Sulphur Recovery Units
Based on the detailed assessment in the concept study report, 1.45 BSCF is achievable on air only with minor modifications
NGL Extraction Unit
Based on the assessment in the concept study report, 1.45 BSCF case can be achieved with the re-wheeling of a turboexpander in the existing unit.
Additional Modifications
