Sourcing Manager (Hard home) (AQND-551511) Hong Kong
Our client is a global retailer and they are looking for a Sourcing Manager to look after the Hard home category. This will include tabletop, toys, seasonal, furniture, kitchenware, floral. Home décor etc. This person will lead a team of 5 staff and reporting to the head of sourcing.
Key responsibilities include:
·Applies existing product knowledge and expertise in order to manage the home category whilst adopting a strategic approach towards the continuous development of the supplier base.
·Conducts intensive negotiations with suppliers to achieve the best purchase price for the agreed quality.
·Carries out visits to trade fairs and suppliers in order to manage and develop the supplier pool within the home category.
·Drives product innovation and quality with suppliers through in-depth understanding of production processes and product requirements.
·Monitors the production process for all purchased products. Identifies any issues and resolves them within the team in a proactive and timely manner.
·Regularly visits suppliers in order to evaluate and quantify their abilities to supply products according to the company requirements.
·Is able to effectively work in a team with colleagues to share information and best practice. Undertakes shared or individual team responsibilities with a positive attitude.
To succeed in this key role you will have at least 8 years experience in handling hardline categories.
Requirements:
·Degree in Supply Chain, Business or any other relevant discipline
·Fluent in Cantonese and English is a Must
·Previous experience working in UK or US market will be required
·Ability to work in a fast pace environment
·Willing to travel (Around 35%)
