1st Year Engineering - Boilmaker Apprenticeship (JO000077451) Galong, Australia
We have an exciting opportunity for a 1st year Engineering - Fabrication Apprentice to work with our client who is an Australian owned company specialising in perforated metal, grating, handrail and expanded metal products. Based in our Galong Plant, we are looking for a motivated, committed and reliable person who is wanting to gain practical on the job experience, whilst receiving extensive training and a Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication).
What will you be doing?
- Complete schedules & daily routine mechanical maintenance activities
- Rectify faults and/or recover from breakdown
- Monitor the work environment for hazards
- Problem solving & troubleshooting
- Competently operate any required plant and equipment that the apprentice has been trained to operate in a safe manner and maintain good work area housekeeping
- Examine detailed drawings, specifications and instructions to understand job, material and equipment requirements.
- Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
- Implement required maintenance improvements to help enhance durability and maximise plant availability.
What do you need for this role?
- Someone who is a precise and has a good eye for detail
- A quick learner
- Good communication skills, organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic MS Office proficiency
- Practical trade skills and/or relevant pre-apprenticeship
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team
