The Association is a charitable, member based, organisation for people with diabetes and related conditions. As a consumer based organisation the Association is managed by a voluntary board, committed to the well-being of all people with diabetes and related conditions.

What’s the role?

  • Deliver an evidenced based private dietetics service
  • Provide nutrition education to people with diabetes and cardiac conditions through a range of programs
  • Undertake health promotion activities
  • Support the development of educational resources

Is this the right role for you?

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)
  • Attained APD Status
  • An understanding of private dietician practice
  • NT Driver's License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to participate in planning, implementing and evaluating education programs, resource development and health promotion activities
  • A well-developed understanding of adult education learning principles, presentation skills, stages of behaviour change and group education
  • Awareness of cultural issues and their impact on clinical practice

NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
