Counsellor - Relationship Services & Post Separation

  • $3000 Professional Development allowance pro rata
  • Up to $11,000 total relocation assistance

What’s the role?

  • Provide high quality counselling services and group programs to individuals, couples, families, and children across five small programs
  • Deliver services that are appropriate, sensitive, and respectful for a diverse range of people from a variety of different backgrounds, including ATSI and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities
  • Undertake professional and community liaison, networking and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, the community, service providers and government agencies.
  • Have the willingness and capacity to travel to remote Central Australia communities (e.g., Tennant Creek) intermittently.
  • Undertake both individual and group clinical supervision, team meetings, professional development opportunities, general administrative duties

Is this the right role for you?

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or another relevant qualification with supervised clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated eligibility for or current membership of the relevant professional body, e.g. APS, AASW, PACFA, ACA, or AHPRA
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of counselling and group facilitation to individuals, couples, families or children.
  • Willingness to maintain strong commitment to on-going professional development
  • Well-developed administrative, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willingness and capacity to travel intermittently to communities in Central Australia

NT PHN/RWA NT may be able to offer relocation support and clinical educational financial assistance to health professionals who are relocating to the NT or moving within the NT to a greater remoteness area classification for the purposes of employment and further clinical education.
