Object Oriented Programming (OOP)/Python Developer Summary:

Signature Consultants has an opportunity for an OOP/Python Developer.  The successful candidate will be
involved in the development of regulatory solutions for the Emerging Markets business. Python is the language of choice but we will consider candidates with experience of any object orientated or functional language. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the software development life cycle and will have daily interaction with development teams across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with front office technology teams in NY and London to design and develop regulatory solutions and provide on-going support
  • Participate in global cross LOB strategic development initiatives
  • Manage and escalate risks and issues
  • Work on large project deliveries as well as on smaller enhancements with very short turnaround times. These deliveries are based on strategic projects managed centrally as part
    of a global book of work.

Qualifications:

  • Software Engineering or Computer Science background
  • Degree level education
  • Extensive experience of at least one mainstream programming language e.g. Python, Java, C#, C, C++, F#
  • Sound knowledge of software engineering design patterns and practices
  • Experience of distributed systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Developing documentation in an agile software development environment
  • 3+ years of experience as a technical writer
  • Technical writing experience with complex software applications
  • An appetite to work in a fast paced environment

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience of trade capture or trade life cycle systems
  • Experience of Rates, FX or Credit asset classes would be very advantageous but not essential
