We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated 1st Mate / Senior DPO (SDPO) to join a modern offshore MPSV / subsea support vessel, supporting subsea operations, ROV activities and offshore project execution. The role starts during commissioning in Europe, with planned sea trials and subsequent mobilisation to West Africa.

1st Mate / SDPO – Offshore MPSV / Subsea Support Vessel
We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated 1st Mate / Senior DPO (SDPO) to join our team onboard a modern offshore subsea construction vessel, supporting subsea operations, ROV activities and offshore project execution.
As a 1st Mate / SDPO, you will play a key role in safe navigation, dynamic positioning and coordination of deck operations, ensuring strict adherence to international maritime standards and company procedures.
This is a rotation-based position with an expected sign-on date of 13 April 2026 (subject to confirmation). The initial phase will be in the Netherlands (commissioning and sea trials), followed by mobilisation to Nigeria in June.
Standard rotation:
• Europe phase: 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off
• Nigeria phase: 8 weeks on / off
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform navigational watch duties as Officer of the Watch (OOW) in compliance with STCW regulations
• Operate and supervise the vessel’s Dynamic Positioning (DP) system during offshore operations
• Support and coordinate subsea construction activities, ROV operations and deck operations
• Assist the Master in planning and executing safe marine operations
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, company policies and international standards
• Oversee deck crew activities and cargo / equipment handling operations
• Maintain accurate logs, reports and operational documentation
Requirements:
• Valid Certificate of Competency (Deck Officer – Chief Mate) with full STCW certification
• Valid DP Unlimited Certificate
• Previous experience in subsea construction activities and ROV operations
• Strong command of English (written and spoken)
• Valid medical certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
• Valid passport and seaman’s book
• BOSIET / FOET (OPITO approved)
