A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a STEELWORKS DESIGNER |DRAUGHTSMAN with proven experience in structural steel or Architectural steelwork background, for one of our clients who are one of the UK’s largest secondary steel and architectural steel suppliers. based in Corby Northamptonshire.

Hours:             8.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday

The successful candidate will be required to produce preliminary construction drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings using Advance Steel.

Role | Responsibilities
·Previous experience as an Steelworks Draughtsman on construction projects.
·Managing the day-to-day works design activities.
·Ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with the client and companies requirements.
·Create models using Advance Steel software.
·Produce all material call off, drawings etc from the model.
·Issue drawings to agreed time frames.
·Working day to day along the commercial team.
·A strong work ethic allowing you to deliver on your deadlines.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record from similar sector specific organisations and a hold current valid CSCS ticket | card.

As the Steelworks Designer | Draughtsman you will have experience with on-site surveys and CAD drawing facilities and be capable of production of fabrication steelwork drawings. You will be working as part of an experienced team possess a strong work ethic with previous UK construction experience. This is a technical role that needs a qualified engineer to find solutions to complex problems, Experience of design projects using fabricated and machined components with a proven track record of working for an engineering business.


Reporting directly to the Design Director, industry training will be provided however, proven experience of Inventor and AutoCAD is a prerequisite. The ideal candidate would also hold a HND or Engineering certificate in Mechanical engineering.
The successful candidate will offer cost effective and creative design solutions to the manufacturability of the equipment and provide practical and cost effective solutions to design modifications whilst offering a forward thinking and self-motivated approach.
