Our client is actively seeking Environmental Consultants (Consultant to Principal grade) to join their growing multi-disciplinary Environmental Services team. You will get the opportunity to work on an interesting and varied portfolio of work including flood, coastal and maritime projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales and local authorities and a range of other sectors such as ports, water utilities, transport and renewable power. There is also opportunity to support our clients' growing portfolio of water and catchment work including natural capital projects.
Our client has a close-knit team and they have an active Environmental Community of Practice and pride themselves on being at the forefront of environmental best practice and innovation, including digital EIA. Our client holds the IEMA EIA Quality Mark which is a benchmark of their high standards in EIA delivery.
They will also ensure you will be mentored as required to develop your environmental assessment skills, and work towards full membership and chartership with IEMA, IES, CIWEM or another professional institute if not already obtained. They can help you develop any particular specialism in environmental and sustainability assessment.
Our client is looking for candidates to work closely with other environmental and engineering disciplines to:
- Contribute to and co-ordinate all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) including SEA, feasibility, screening/scoping, and Environmental Statement chapters
- Provide input into the range of other environmental assessment and consenting applications such as WFD, HRA, planning, Development Consent Orders and Environmental Permits
- Support construction stage delivery
- Liaise with project teams, clients, stakeholders and the public as required
- Provide input to bids and proposals.
Essential Requirements
The role is suitable for an Environmental professional with several years of relevant environmental assessment experience. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- An environmental related degree
- Be a member of IEMA, IES, CIWEM or another professional institute
- Be Chartered or working towards Chartership
- A sound understanding of EIA
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have previous consultancy experience
- Have the ability to organise, manage and prioritise work, with or without supervision, in order to meet tight deadlines and deliver well-planned work schedules
