• Apprentice Chiller Technician - 1st – 4th Year | Canberra (Fyshwick)

Our client Trane, a global leader in air and water-cooled systems, is looking for motivated 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Chiller Technician Apprentices to join their Canberra team.

Working with MEGT as your employer and Trane as your host, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience with an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Unlike standard residential work, you’ll be involved in large-scale, critical projects that will help you build specialist skills and a strong career in the HVAC/Refrigeration industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting qualified technicians with service, maintenance, repairs, and warranty work on Trane chillers and HVAC systems.
• Supporting with diagnosis and troubleshooting of technical faults (hands-on and computer-based).
• Learning to work on large, long-term projects (often 3–12 months).
• Engaging with technical manuals, logging systems and OEM support tools.
• Building problem-solving skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

About You

• Curious and eager to learn, with patience to develop specialist skills.
• Practical and hands-on, with a willingness to stick with projects long-term.
• Reliable and motivated, with strong teamwork, communication, and safety awareness.

What We Offer

• Full-time employment (40 hours per week) with monthly RDO.
• Competitive apprentice wages (junior and adult apprentices welcome).
• Mobile phone, laptop, PPE and training provided.
• Progression opportunities including vehicle (from Year 3, subject to competency).
• Potential to move into a permanent role with Trane after completing your apprenticeship.

Requirements

• White Card (mandatory).
• Driver’s licence (P’s or above preferred).
• Ability to obtain police or government clearances if required.
• Genuine interest in HVAC/Refrigeration.

Location
Base: Fyshwick, Canberra
Most work is local (within 30 minutes of the office), with occasional project-based travel.
