Class 1 Driver 

Location: Bedford (MK43)

Contract: Ongoing Temporary (Year-round stability)

Earnings: From £20.17ph up to £22.41ph

Class 1 Driver Opportunity

Gi Group are recruiting Class 1 Drivers, to work for our client based in Bedford. Delivering packaging material across UK. This is ongoing role, with Fulltime and Part Time opportunities. 

Role & Responsibilities : 

• Delivering packaging material, all palletised 

• Operating Curtain Side vehicles 

• 2-6 drops per shift

• Minimum / No Handball 

• Conducting thorough vehicle checks and maintaining accurate digital tachograph records.

• Ability to manage your Working Time Directive, and Driving Hours rules and Regulations in order to meet compliance expectations, and avoid infringement 

Shifts : 

• Daily, Weekly and Monthly Bookings available

• Monday to Friday start Times between 05:00 – 07:00 am  

• Weekend work available, subject to client demand

• Full time and part time opportunities

PAYE Pay Rates – Please note the below includes your advanced holiday pay 

Monday to Friday Days (04:00-15:59) £20.17ph 

Monday to Friday Nights (16:00-03:59) £21.29ph

Weekend Sat / Sun (all hours) £22.41ph

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Valid UK Driver Cards (Driving Licence, CPC and DIGI Cards) 

• Minimum 1 year Class 1 driving experience 

• Previous experience with Curtain Side vehicles is essential 

• Max 6 penalty points accepted for minor offences (no DR/DD/IN offences)

• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as an attention to detail
