IP Disputes Solicitor 3-6PQE

IP Disputes Solicitor 3-6PQE (BBBH98485) City of London, England

Salary: GBP130000 - GBP130000 per annum

Top-Tier Silver Circle Firm
IP Disputes
Solicitor 3-6PQE
London

The firm’s highly regarded Tier IP disputes group operates across the broadest possible spectrum, acting in some of the most significant and influential IP disputes of recent years. They are one of the select group of firms to have taken both patent (supplementary protection certificates) and trade mark cases to the Court of Justice of the European Union, with successful outcomes for clients on each occasion. Their experience is wide and varied, ranging from cross-border patent revocation and infringement actions through to trade marks, designs and copyright litigation involving household brands, famous designs and celebrated artistic works, films and broadcasts.

The group has particular expertise in the field of enforcement, having secured and enforced countless search and seizure orders. They advise on and secure blocking injunctions for their rights holder clients;  anti-counterfeiting and grey market  - routinely securing customs seizures and civil injunctions to cut off infringing imports at source; and, as one of the very few IP teams with in-house criminal prosecutors, they  have successfully undertaken private prosecutions where clients have been the victims of IP crime.

As part of the role, you will be advising on a varied range of disputes and related advisory work concerning both patents (including in relation to SPCs, FRAND disputes and freedom to operate) and soft IP (trade marks, designs, copyright and confidential information). The team's work also involves advising on some more commercial disputes, to which there will be an IP angle, although the actual claim may be in contract, fraud or tort, such as licensing disputes. There will also be a range of general IP advisory work (such as advertising clearance/ASA disputes and related matters) and opposition, revocation and invalidity disputes before the UKIPO and other registries.

The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years PQE gained within the contentious IP team of a highly regarded private practice in London. Experience of patent litigation would be beneficial but is not essential. You will have also undertaken an Oxford IP Diploma or have an interest in doing so.

Please apply as directed or confidentially contact Aidan McAvinue at Search Legal for more information. Alternatively, if this role is not for you, I am working a variety of other IP Disputes opportunities with ranked teams in the City London so would be interested to talk to any IP Disputes lawyer.
