Business Development Manager (Remote) – Work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.!

We have a direct hire opening for a Business Development Manager at a global logistics provider that offers comprehensive international freight forwarding services.

  • In this role, effectively promote international freight forwarding solutions to companies in the food, project cargoes, and consumer goods industries, helping them secure a long-term, reliable logistics provider for their complex supply chains.

Schedule and Salary Information:

  • 1st shift position
  • Base Salary: $100k-$130k plus uncapped commission of 10% of the gross margin on each shipment you secure

Job Duties of the Business Development Manager:

  • Conduct market research to identify companies that will benefit most from international freight forwarding services
  • Initiate contact with prospective customers through emails, cold calls, LinkedIn Navigator, ZoomInfo, and more
  • Develop project plans that maximize profitability while maintaining a competitive edge
  • Secure new key accounts within the food, project cargoes, and consumer goods sectors
  • Create and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, leveraging your expertise in international logistics and supply chain solutions
  • Guide clients through the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and initial engagement to closing deals
  • Target U.S.-based and global companies, customizing import/export logistics services to fit their needs, including warehousing, temperature-controlled storage, customs clearance, domestic transportation, and distribution
  • Build long-term relationships with C-Suite executives and senior decision-makers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop RFI/RFP responses and quotes
  • Manage relationships with existing clients through strategic account management to ensure growth
  • Partner closely with the international logistics team to deliver seamless cross-border solutions

Job Requirements of the Business Development Manager:

  • 5 years of sales experience within the international freight forwarding industry
  • Proven record of securing import and export logistics business, involving international and domestic transportation services
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-modal transportation, import/export requirements, and customs brokerage
  • Proficiency with sales tools like HubSpot, LinkedIn Navigator, and ZoomInfo
  • A book of business is preferred; however, if you have relevant experience within the freight forwarding industry, please apply
  • Ability to articulate solutions, negotiate contract terms, and close high-value deals
  • Experience working with organizations of all sizes
