We have a direct hire opening for a QA Manager in Sylmar at a shop that specializes in complex, intricate components for the aerospace and defense industries. This is a 1st shift opening!
In this role, develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols, conduct audits, and working closely with their team to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and client expectations.
They use CNC equipment, including 3,4,and 5 axis mills, as well as two axis lathes to produce high precision parts.

Schedule and Salary Information:
- 1st shift: 7:30 am-4 pm; Monday-Friday
- Pay: $35-$50/hour

Job Duties of the QA Manager:
- Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures for engineering processes.
- Conduct receiving inspections to monitor the quality of materials upon arrival.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and client requirements.
- Oversee and manage 2 quality inspectors to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain the AS9100 quality management system and ensure all processes comply with its requirements.
- Manage internal audits and maintain detailed records of time delivery.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to quality assurance.
- Address and resolve quality-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage customer returns and ensure proper documentation and resolution.
- Provide training and support to team members on quality assurance and safety best practices.
- Oversee safety at the facility, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall quality and efficiency.
Job Requirements of the QA Manager:
- Have experience in quality assurance within the manufacturing industry, in precision machining
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Must be knowledgeable in AS9100 standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
